The Motivation Behind Creating Our Interview Coach

The Job Interview Simulator has always been about giving people a safe space to practice. Interviews are hard to teach. They’re unpredictable, they come with pressure, and most people don’t get many chances to try them out without consequences. So we added something we’ve been planning for a while: the Interview Coach.
The hesitation before the start
We’ve had a lot of conversations with people using the Simulator. This includes teachers, careers advisors, employment facilitators, and one thing kept coming up. Some learners hesitate at the starting line. Not because they’re not interested, but because they don’t feel ready. They don’t know what to expect or how to begin.
The simulation itself works well for practice. But we needed a way to support that moment before practice starts, the part where people are still building the confidence to step in.

Built with real-world voices
The Interview Coach isn’t just our take. We worked closely with recruiters and professional interviewers to shape the content. What they shared was generous: real insight into how interviewers think, what they listen for, and how candidates can prepare in a way that feels genuine.
The Coach shares this insight in a simple, clear way. No fluff or jargon. Just helpful perspective that makes interviews feel less mysterious and more manageable.
A calm way in
It’s not a lesson. It’s not a checklist. It’s a quiet feature, there for the people who want to take a breath and understand the shape of things before they begin. It walks through key moments, before and during the interview, and gives people the chance to reflect, steady themselves, and step in with more confidence.
For someone walking into their first interview, or coming back to it after a long break, that kind of grounding can make all the difference.

Something that scales
Interview preparation is hard to deliver at scale. Everyone brings their own experience, their own nerves, their own questions. The Interview Coach doesn’t replace individual support, but it does give people a way to start preparing on their own terms.
It works in classrooms, in job readiness programs, in one-on-one settings, or as a personal guide for someone going it alone.
Available in V3.1.0 and newer
The Interview Coach is now available as part of the Job Interview Simulator. It’s included with all current Work Window subscriptions. We hope it becomes a useful companion, whether someone’s just starting out or just needs a quiet moment to find their footing.
If you want to see how it works or talk through how to use it with the people you support, I’d be happy to chat.

We’re always working to make career prep a little more effective, and a little more user-friendly. The Interview Coach is a big step in that direction.
