One of the biggest questions in career education is simple: what is a job really like, day-to-day? A job description can give you a list of tasks, but it can't capture the feeling of a high-stakes environment or the quiet focus of helping someone one-on-one.
At Work Window, we believe the best way to understand a career is to experience it firsthand.
That’s why we’re excited to give you a behind-the-scenes look at our latest content project, the "Perth Production Palooza." We spent a full week on location filming a new set of career experiences designed to be more hands-on and insightful than ever.
These new modules are now in production and will be added to the Work Window library later this year. Here’s a preview of what your students and clients will be able to explore.
Occupational Therapist: Rebuilding Everyday Skills
What does a "helping profession" actually look like? Our new Occupational Therapist experience shows it in action. We saw how OTs help people relearn the everyday skills many of us take for granted, like holding a cup or tying a shoelace.
It’s a powerful look at a career that blends creative problem-solving with deep empathy. We designed this module to show students how their desire to help can be channeled into practical, hands-on work that restores a person's independence.
Lawyer: Seeing Past the Stereotypes
Most students think a lawyer's job is all about courtroom drama, thanks to TV shows. We wanted to show them the reality.
We filmed with a business lawyer to reveal the real skills of the profession: patience, careful research, and focused problem-solving. This experience is a tool to help students see past the stereotypes and understand what a career in law truly involves.
Counsellor: The Skill of Creating Trust
Some jobs are about the tasks you perform, while others are about the environment you create. Counselling is a perfect example of the latter.
This experience takes students inside a session to show how a counsellor's core skills, like active listening and empathy, are used to build trust and help people work through difficult moments. It's a unique look at a career that requires strong emotional intelligence.
Orthopaedic Surgeon: What Great Teamwork Looks Like
Witnessing an orthopaedic surgery is an incredible lesson in teamwork. We expected to see a technical procedure, but what we saw felt more like a choreographed dance, every team member moving in sync, with clear and constant communication.
We captured this to show what great collaboration looks like when the stakes are high. It lets users feel the focus and energy of a surgical team, making the idea of "good teamwork" real and unforgettable.
Building the Future of Career Exploration, Together
This significant expansion of our library was made possible through a content partnership with The University of Notre Dame Australia, and we are delighted that these new experiences will be available to the entire Work Window community.
Our mission is to deepen the career conversation, and that is a goal we build collaboratively. We are always looking for new partners in schools, universities, and industry who share our passion for authentic career exploration. If you have an idea or a program you believe would be a great fit for Work Window, we would love to hear from you.
Stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to the launch.
